Clifford Chance GDL maintenance grant raised to £10,000

Magic Circle titan Clifford Chance (CC) has announced that its future trainees will receive £10,000 to assist with living costs whilst studying for their Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL).

CC previously offered £8,000 in GDL maintenance grants. The new total of £10,000 brings the financial support in line with the firm's Legal Practice Course (LPC) maintenance grant. CC also covers soon-to-be trainees’ GDL and LPC fees.

Trainees at the Magic Circle giant currently earn £46,600 in their first year, rising to £52,500 in the second year. Newly-qualified (NQ) solicitors receive an impressive £91,000. Our What Will You Earn table compares all law firm trainee and NQ salaries.
