Exeter Uni launches LLB Legal Placement degree with Reed Smith

The University of Exeter has launched a new four-year undergraduate degree in partnership with US-headquartered Reed Smith

As part of the new LLB Legal Placement degree, current first year students now have the opportunity to do a placement year at the global firm’s London office.

This new undergraduate degree offers five students the opportunity to enhance their degree with a year-long placement at Reed Smith.

The placement year is set to begin in 2020/2021 and will focus on how technology is changing the role of legal practitioners.

During the placement year students will spend time in two practice areas giving next-generation lawyers a clear understanding of how innovation hubs and technology are improving the delivery of legal services.

The five successful students chosen for the placement will be guaranteed a place on Reed Smith’s training contract assessment day, bringing them a step closer to securing a training contract early.

Lex 100 understands that this course is focused on training lawyers for the Solicitors Qualifying Examination set to commence in 2021.
