Respondents to our survey praised Irwin Mitchell’s ‘uniquely tailored training contract’, which consists of the ‘two streams’ of personal legal services and business legal services. The ‘comprehensive training’ is complemented by ‘direct client contact and substantive work’. Areas of expertise include claimant work on clinical negligence and personal injury cases.

In November 2015, Irwin Mitchell announced the takeover of Thomas Eggar, a £40m firm with six offices in the South East.

Recent deals have included representing the Intrepid Brewing Company in a trade mark dispute with Greene King, and advising BlackRock Workspace Property Trust on its £32m disposal of a portfolio of four light industrial properties to Westbrook Partners.

Irwin Mitchell performed strongly across the board in this year’s Lex 100 survey, with particularly high scores attained in the friendliness, work quality and diversity categories.

First-year trainee salaries are £25,000 (regional) and £36,000 (London), with each rising by £2,000 in the second year.

The deadline for training contract applications is 30 June 2017 – apply online here.
