Ashfords has five offices across the South West and an additional base in London, and is recognised for its ‘expertise in the full range of legal services’. The commercial litigation, employment, project finance and shipping departments are all particularly acclaimed.

The firm will be recruiting 15 trainees in 2018, who are selected from the 250 applications Ashfords receives per year. Full LPC sponsorship at any University of Law centre is provided to recruits. Additionally, two summer vacation schemes are held in June and July.

Recent work has involved acting for the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham on a planning application for redeveloping the Empress State Building in Earls Court, and advised Ginsters on co-branding agreements with The Sun.

Ashfords attained impressive scores in numerous categories in our survey, including for friendliness, vacation schemes and living up to expectations. Glowing feedback referenced the ‘inherent approachability of the staff’ and the ‘stimulating work’ trainees are tasked with.

If the firm were a fictional character it would be… Dorothy (The Wizard of Oz) – bravely challenges an unfamiliar world.
