60 trainees will commence their training contracts at Hogan Lovells in 2018, joining the firm’s 2,500 lawyers currently working in 26 countries. Trainee salaries are £41,000 in the first year and £46,000 in the second year, while NQs take home £70,000. Second-year trainees are able to complete either a client or an international secondment.
Two recent examples of Hogan Lovells’ work include representing British American Tobacco on a tax penalty challenge against HMRC relating to tobacco smuggling, and advising Mitsubishi Heavy Industries on its joint venture with Hitachi and Siemens.
Feedback from Hogan Lovells’ trainees has propelled the firm to Lex 100 winner status in the remuneration satisfaction category. The firm has also performed strongly elsewhere, and respondents enthuse about the ‘combination of top-quality work and variety’ that Hogan Lovells offers.
If the firm were a fictional character it would be… Neo (The Matrix) – intelligent and unique.
