For the final Ask The Experts instalment of 2015 we’ve simply asked our panel to identify some of the ‘best bits’ that their trainees have experienced over the past 12 months, be it work-related or during time away from the office.
At Shearman & Sterling our trainees love getting their teeth into the exceptional work we do at the firm. Our lean teams mean real responsibility from day one; here are a few highlights from our first seat.
My highlight of 2015 was spending six months on secondment in Dubai from March to September. The focus of our Dubai office is largely on energy, resources and infrastructure work. This, alongside the opportunity to spend six months in a popular holiday destination, was hugely appealing to me.
At Norton Rose Fulbright we offer our trainees the opportunity to undertake a seat in one of our international offices during their training contract. April Lord, one of our current trainees, recently spent six months in our Dubai office to work closely with one of our clients.
Before starting with Taylor Wessing in August and whilst I was still studying for the LPC, I set off for Nepal with the hope of reaching Everest Base Camp. With only two weeks off between my studies, time was of the essence to fulfil this long-held ambition. Arriving in Kathmandu I met my guide, Min, who would lead the way through the Himalayan foothills.
