The University of Law (ULaw) solicitor apprenticeship programme, which started on 25th September 2017, is designed to create successful partnerships between the University, employers and apprentices to meet the requirements of the Government’s employer-led trailblazer standard for solicitor qualification.
The new solicitor apprenticeships herald a fantastic opportunity for both students and law firms alike, but as yet, places are limited. Kate Durcan speaks to recruiters and apprentices to reveal the pros and cons (are there any?) of this route to qualification.
You want to work in the legal industry but you’re not sure if you’re ready to commit to going down the (rather long) route to becoming a solicitor just yet? Maybe you want to gain experience working in a law firm before you decide if a career in law is for you at all.
