City firm Bird & Bird will be moving to a brand new office in the near future.
Great Portland Estates (GPE) and City of London Corporation have confirmed a prelet on New Fetter Lane to the firm.

Magic Circle firm Norton Rose has announced that it will sponsor the fourth annual G(irls) 20 summit, which brings together 20 girls, aged 18-20 from each G20 country, as well as a representative from the European Union and African Union, to discuss the G20 agenda.
Before the next G20 Leaders’ Summit in St Petersburg on 5th-6th September this year, the G(irls) 20 summit will meet to discuss some of the major international financial topics of today.
Latham & Watkins announces new German office
Global law firm Latham & Watkins has announced plans to open a fourth German office after hiring a four-partner team from fellow US firm Shearman & Sterling's German offices.
Latham & Watkins will be opening a Dusseldorf office to join its offices in Hamburg, Frankfurt and Munich and aims to strengthen its corporate and disputes practices with the new hires.

BPP Law school has announced plans to offer BPP LPC graduates who fail to get any job in the legal sector, within six months of graduation, the opportunity to return to the school and study an additional qualification worth up to £16,500, at no additional cost.
In a move to demonstrate the school’s confidence in the education that it provides, students will be able to choose from a pool of agreed courses.

International firm Reed Smith has become the first law firm to sign up to GoThinkBig, an organisation focussed on providing young people with work experience and skills development opportunities.
Unveiled by O2 and Bauer Media in 2012, the scheme aims to promote work experience opportunities from a range of employers to over 100,000 students.
Nottingham law school completes groundbreaking trainee qualification project
Nottingham Law School, part of Nottingham Trent University, has been carrying out the work-based learning pilot alongside the Solicitors Regulation Authority over the past four-and-a-half years,with staff at the school assisting students in their efforts to show that they have the relevant skills and knowledge to become practising solicitors.
For the duration of the project students worked as paralegals at law firms, local government, banks and a number of other organisations and had either passed their LPC before starting on the pilot or did so over the course of the venture.
Allen & Overy breaks three-year trainee wage freeze
Magic Circle firm Allen & Overy has increased trainee pay for 2012-2013.
The move will see the firm break a three-year trainee pay freeze.
